Menjelang berakhirnya bulan suci Ramadhan 1447 Hijriyyah, umat Islam di Indonesia kembali menantikan satu momen penting, Penentuan ini bukan sekadar tanggal, melainkan hasil ijtihad ilmiah dan syar’i melalui proses rukyatul hilal dan sidang isbat yang melibatkan berbagai pihak, termasuk pemerintah dan organisasi keagamaan seperti Nahdlatul Ulama.
Berdasarkan hasil rukyatul hilal yang dilakukan secara nasional, Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama bersama Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia secara resmi menetapkan bahwa:
1 Syawal 1447 H / Idulfitri 2026 jatuh pada hari Sabtu Pahing, 21 Maret 2026 Masehi.
Penetapan ini menjadi pedoman bagi mayoritas umat Islam di Indonesia dalam mengakhiri ibadah puasa Ramadhan dan menyambut hari kemenangan dengan penuh suka cita.
Proses Penentuan: Rukyatul Hilal di Seluruh Indonesia
Penentuan awal bulan Syawwal tidak dilakukan secara sembarangan. Tim rukyatul hilal yang berada di selenggarakan kementerian agama indonesia yang di koordinasi lembaga falakiyah dari berbagai bidang dan ormas Islam salah satunya Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama telah melakukan pengamatan hilal di berbagai titik strategis di seluruh Indonesia.
Rukyatul hilal merupakan metode observasi langsung terhadap kemunculan bulan sabit pertama (hilal) setelah matahari terbenam pada tanggal 29 Ramadhan. Metode ini memiliki dasar kuat dalam syariat Islam, sebagaimana sabda Nabi Muhammad Saw.:
صُوْمُوْا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوْا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوْا لَهُ
”Berpuasalah kalian karena melihat hilal dan berbukalah (ber-Idulfitri) karena melihat hilal. Jika hilal tertutup (tidak terlihat), maka sempurnakanlah (bilangan bulan Syaban menjadi 30 hari).”
(HR. Bukhari dan Muslim)
Namun, berdasarkan laporan resmi yang diterima, tidak ada satu pun lokasi di Indonesia yang berhasil melihat hilal pada waktu yang telah ditentukan.
Istikmal: Penyempurnaan Ramadhan menjadi 30 hari
Karena hilal tidak terlihat, maka penentuan awal Syawwal dilakukan dengan metode istikmal, yaitu menyempurnakan bulan Ramadhan menjadi 30 hari.
Metode ini juga memiliki dasar syar’i yang jelas, sebagaimana lanjutan hadis Nabi:
فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَأَكْمِلُوْا الْعِدَّةَ ثَلَاثِيْنَ
“Jika hilal tertutup (tidak terlihat oleh kalian), maka sempurnakanlah bilangan (bulan) menjadi 30 hari.” (HR. Imam Bukhari dan Imam Muslim)
Kalimat ini menjelaskan kondisi ketika hilal tidak bisa dilihat, misalnya karena cuaca mendung, kabut atau hujan, atau faktor lain yang menghalangi rukyat, Maka Islam memberikan solusi yang sangat jelas yaitu bulan sebelumnya disempurnakan menjadi 30 hari (istikmal). Jika hilal Syawwal tidak terlihat pada tanggal 29 Ramadhan maka Ramadhan digenapkan menjadi 30 hari, Setelah itu, barulah masuk 1 Syawwal (Idulfitri)
Dengan demikian, Ramadhan 1447 H digenapkan menjadi 30 hari, dan 1 Syawwal ditetapkan jatuh pada keesokan harinya, yaitu 21 Maret 2026.
Keputusan ini juga selaras dengan pendapat empat mazhab besar dalam Islam (al-Madzahibul Arba’ah), yang menjadi rujukan utama dalam praktik keagamaan Nahdlatul Ulama.
Keselarasan dengan Pemerintah: Sidang Isbat Kemenag RI
Keputusan yang diambil oleh Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama tidak berdiri sendiri. Penetapan ini juga sejalan dengan hasil sidang isbat yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia.
Sidang isbat merupakan forum resmi yang melibatkan berbagai pihak, seperti ulama dan ormas Islam, pakar astronomi dan falak, perwakilan pemerintah, dan instansi terkait.
Sidang Isbat Lebaran 2026 melibatkan beberapa organisasi dan instansi, antara lain, Kementerian Agama RI, sebagai penyelenggara, BMKG (Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika), BRIN (Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional), Planetarium dan Observatorium, Perwakilan organisasi masyarakat Islam, dan Instansi terkait lainnya.
Sidang Isbat ini menentukan tanggal Idulfitri 1447 H, yang hasilnya menetapkan Idulfitri jatuh pada Sabtu, 21 Maret 2026.
Tujuan dari sidang ini adalah untuk menghasilkan keputusan yang ilmiah, syar’i, dan dapat diterima secara luas oleh masyarakat.
Dengan kesamaan hasil ini, umat Islam di Indonesia memiliki pedoman yang sama dalam merayakan Idulfitri, sehingga memperkuat persatuan dan kebersamaan.
Hikmah di Balik Penetapan: Persatuan dalam Perbedaan
Penetapan awal Syawwal sering kali menjadi momen yang sensitif karena adanya potensi perbedaan metode (rukyat dan hisab). Namun, perbedaan tersebut sejatinya adalah bagian dari khazanah keilmuan Islam yang kaya.
Dalam konteks ini, sikap yang perlu dikedepankan yaitu menghormati perbedaan pendapat, menjaga ukhuwah Islamiyah, dan mengutamakan persatuan umat.
Sebagaimana pesan dalam surat resmi PBNU, umat Islam diajak untuk menjadikan Idulfitri sebagai momentum mempererat silaturahmi dan memperkuat kebersamaan.
Makna Idulfitri: Kembali ke Fitrah
Idulfitri bukan sekadar hari raya, melainkan titik kembali menuju kesucian diri (fitrah). Setelah sebulan penuh menjalani ibadah puasa, umat Islam diharapkan mencapai derajat takwa.
Makna Idulfitri sendiri mencakup pembersihan jiwa dari dosa, kemenangan melawan hawa nafsu, maupun kembalinya manusia pada kesucian seperti bayi yang baru lahir.
Sehingga momentum ini juga menjadi waktu terbaik untuk saling memaafkan, memperbaiki hubungan sosial, serta menumbuhkan kepedulian terhadap sesama.
Pesan dan Harapan
Dalam surat resminya, Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama menyampaikan harapan agar seluruh umat Islam terus dapat meningkatkan amal ibadah, menjaga nilai-nilai kebaikan pasca Ramadhan, dan menjadikan Ramadhan sebagai titik awal perubahan, bukan akhir, karena tanda diterimanya amal bukan hanya pada saat dilakukan, tetapi berlanjutnya kebaikan setelahnya yang terus dilakukan.
Dengan ditetapkannya 1 Syawwal 1447 H pada 21 Maret 2026, umat Islam di Indonesia kini dapat menyambut Idulfitri dengan penuh kesiapan, kebahagiaan, dan ketenangan.
Mari jadikan momen ini sebagai awal baru untuk menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik, lebih peduli, dan lebih dekat kepada Allah Swt.
